Question 15. Do you feel the program has affected or changed you/your personality/your habits/your life long term?
"Yes; I was very easy going and loving before the program and I was very trusting. Now I find myself paranoid with any relationship. I have a lot of anxiety in my life about the simplest situations. I don’t do well in groups and have a hard time trusting anybody." - A.E., Casa by the Sea
"Yes, I was way more easy going before I went- now I have anxiety and think that people are always out to get me or deceive me, especially in structured situations." - L.W., Cross Creek Manor
"Yes, it's made me a less trusting, more easily irritated, unable to enjoy life's pleasures, and overall traumatized me." - B.B., Ivy Ridge & Tranquility Bay
"I have major fears of abandonment, still have nightmares about the program, still have anger issues, and struggle with limits because I am so afraid of having my rights intruded upon in any way." - C.M., Tranquility Bay
"I believe the program opened my eyes to a few things. I learned it is whatever you make it. Meaning you can have fun in any situation. I learned a true belief is the most powerful thing someone can have. I learned to lie to myself and believe it sounds crazy, but truth is, it has gotten me out of some of the worst situations of my life including CBS. I learned a little spanglish and that's the good that I took from it. The bad I have to see a psychiatrist weekly, I have a personality disorder and have severe PTSD." - Anon, Casa by the Sea
"Definitely suffer from PTSD. And Wasting Food Issues due to the fact of how I was fed just bread & cheese for days by Jason Finlinson & Jade Robinson." - D.G., Casa by the Sea
"I think the “program” gave me many lessons and tools in life to help me mature. But by doing this, my childhood was robbed. And this caused me to become a huge child at heart, I guess. I think in life, you end up learning much of the lessons taught at Casa, but you learn from experience. At Casa, I was forced to learn and accept these lessons." - J.K., Casa by the Sea
"Yes. I think it has given me both tools for the good and for the bad. It has taught me to have self respect for myself and being able to speak about my emotions. It has also taught me to be a responsible individual. I also think it has its negative points as well. After the program i can say that I have developed social anxiety and have become very fearful in some day to day activities." - N.R., Casa by the Sea
"Not really… some things have stuck with me the things that I agreed with. Ex: anger is a secondary emotion. Taking accountability for you actions…. But as far as my personality no I don’t think it has really changed." - C.L., Casa by the Sea
"The program made me a “colder” person. But I can not attribute my coldness to people and environment to the program or being in the army. But I do have to say, when I enlisted in the army, I felt it was only slightly more difficult than the program only because I had to learn new skills… Otherwise, the program and boot camp almost felt the same." - A.T., Casa by the Sea
"The program did change me. The one thing it changed was my want to never be locked up again and pursue life the way I wanted to live it. There are no damaging effects on my personality though. I am the person I am today cause of the choices I made my whole life. A program would never change that." - G.A., Casa by the Sea
"That's a difficult question to answer. Who's to say what's affected my personality or habits for life. Since this is a question based on "feeling", then yes, I believe it has." - C.A., Casa by the Sea
